Product introduction
Introduction and application of 4-tert-Butoxybenzaldehyde | 57699-45-3
4-tert-Butoxybenzaldehyde is a colorless liquid that has a viscosity of 0.3 mm2/s at 25 °C. It can be synthesized by reacting pyridine with hydrochloric acid in the presence of a Grignard reagent. 4-tert-Butoxybenzaldehyde reacts with phenolic antioxidants to form an ester, which can be used as an industrial solvent. The crystal x-ray diffraction pattern of 4-tert-Butoxybenzaldehyde exhibits peaks at 2θ = 8.0, 11.5, and 18.5° corresponding to the (100), (200), and (220) planes, respectively. This chemical can also undergo reactions that lead to termination or transfer reactions, including diethyl ketomalonate formation with diethyl malonate in the presence of water as a solvent and potassium hydroxide as a catalyst for transfer reactions.
